We did it!

We hope you liked the show – we have loved our stimulating journey and hope that you found something to enjoy amongst the variety of programmes broadcast on HGUH during our brief spell live on air.

I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks to all those who had faith and supported us not just in practical ways, but by listening to us and by praying for us.

I’m trying not to make this sound like an Oscar acceptance speech but I must give the fullest praise to Jillie and Drew – their disparate skills ensured that we had a radio station.  Jillie held the team together and kept us focussed on the end result and her administrative skills were a joy. 

Drew is a techie who turned our dreams for HGUH a reality.  He spent at least 16 hours a day in the studio when we were on air.  His vast expertise kept the show afloat. 

Noel Bell recently joined the Team – thank you!  You’ve helped enormously and we’ve loved having you around, especially with your coming wedding in October – congratulations!

I’d also like to thank Archbishop Peter Smith, Bishop Paul Hendricks and the members of the HGUH Committee for their continued encouragement and prayers.  They all took a risk with their reputations within the Church in supporting us – I hope they weren’t disappointed!

We’d also like to thank the parish priests and everyone who gave interviews – many listeners said they were the highlight of the transmissions.  Also thanks to the churches and congregations for allowing us to record their worship.

Neil D’Aguiar from Richard Challoner, New Malden and Louise Perry from St Anselms, Canterbury and their teams were wonderful in supporting the project wholeheartedly and encouraging their students to develop their considerable skills in various areas in helping the radio.
